    Coach Tom Reynolds

    Coach Reynolds began his professional ski coaching career at Sugarloaf Mountain, where he is currently a trainer for the Ski Learning Center. He is a certified Level IV USSA International Coach, a Level II Certified Canadian Coach, a PSIA Level III Ski Instructor, and skiing representative with Volkl/Technica.

    Coach's competitive alpine athletes have had success at all levels--high school, collegiate, and USSA competitions. He was twice an associate coach for the U.S. Ski Team and served two terms as president of United States Ski Coaches Association. He has coached at summer race camps in the United States, Canada, and Europe. In 1997, he created the University of Maine at Farmington's Ski Industries Program and has placed many career alpine coaches in the field. Beyond skiing Reynolds has coached soccer and tennis at the collegiate level, as well as football and baseball at Maine high schools. His student/athletes call him "Coach." His passion is studying athletic motion, understanding skill development, and applying it to specific sports.

    Coach Reynolds has authored two books, A Guide To Alpine Coaching, in 1974 and Effective Ski Coaching in 2003. He was inducted into the University of Maine at Farmington Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Maine Ski Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2007 Coach Reynolds was honored by PSIA and given its prestigious lifetime award, the National Award for Outstanding Contributions to Skiing Education. Coach Reynolds is recognized nationally and internationally as a "coach's coach."


    Coach Tim LaVallee

    Coach LaVallee has spent a lifetime coaching ski racers from the grass roots level to the United States Ski Team.  His successful coaching experiences include stints with the United States Ski Team, the University of Colorado at Boulder, Bates College, and as director of the Gould Academy Sunday River (GSR) Competition Programs.  In 2008 Sasha Rearick, one of his former student athletes was named the US Ski Team’s head men’s coach..

    LaVallee holds a degree in education from Plymouth State University.  He is a Level IV USSA International Coach and has been published in the National Strength and Conditioning Journal, the Journal of the American Association of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, The American Ski Coach, Special Olympics International Coaches Quarterly, and the United States Ski Team Alpine Training Manual.  Coach LaVallee currently hosts the educational and inspirational web site, www.ski-race-coach.com for coaches, athletes, and ski parents with Coach Tom Reynolds.  In addition to ski coaching, he has been a head football coach, as well as a coach in both lacrosse and cycling. Tim is a Registered Maine Guide and currently serves on the Maine Guide Oral Examining Board.  He was inducted into the Maine Ski Hall of Fame in 2008.


    Colleen Reynolds

    Colleen Reynolds, editor, earned a B.A. from Colby College with a major is English Literature, as well as a M.Ed. in Counseling from Montana State University.  She served as a school counselor in an elementary school, as well as a high school.

    Colleen has written and published a text for parents, For A Child with Spirit, and has edited two books, A Guide to Alpine Coaching and Effective Ski Coaching.  She currently edits articles for the successful web site: www.ski-race-coach.com and recently opened an on-line business at www.e-Edit-my-work.com
